Greetings All! We all have that pimple/acne problem at least once in our lifetime, which ultimately stands as a major skin care problem globally. Today I'm with a product which can help to get rid of acne issue. Lets see whether it helped me or not?

About Brand:

"Rustic art"contrary to the name, their products are not simple and does contain lot of active stuffs in them. Rustic art as a brand roots from Maharastra and has stores at many places around India. I personally think that they are revolutionary and innovative in body care market by making sustainable products which is more than just being organic. The range of products you can find here are home care, baby care, body care and intimate hygiene kit for both genders(which is new to many). Some unique products which might interest you are hand wash concentrate, intimate wash, dish wash concentrate, laundry powder, laundry liquid, laundry concentrate, laundry soap, body wash concentrate and shampoo butters with vast range of variants to choose from. Check it out.

Product- Rustic Art Neem Basil Face wash available in amazon and also here Ideal for - Acne prone skin Price - 230 INR for 100 ml

How it is packed?

Plastic bottle with a pump dispenser and with a cap which I don't say as an eco-friendly sustainable packaging. The bottle is ideal for travels and does not leak or spill.

What does it claim?

No claims made but the packaging says that it is suitable for acne prone skin but obviously not for sensitive skin since it contains neem in it. Hence I expect that it will help in reducing acne/pimple inflammation and scars and also decreases the frequency of occurrence.

What does it contain?

Coconut oil, Pongamia seed oil, Sunflower seed oil, Flax seed oil, Castor oil, Neem oil, Basil oil, Lavender and lemongrass oil, Potassium hydroxide and aqua. Here, you can see that it contains many oils which helps you to restore the sebum balance in your skin without drying out your skin. As many years of our ayurvedham suggests, neem and basil are known for anti-fungal, anti-bacterial properties.

How it looks?

The face wash is liquid in consistency and it is brown in colour. Comparing to gel-based face washes this doesn't come a longer way since you need more amount to lather up. But they also have face wash concentrates too (Yet to check them) which hopefully comes longer period than this liquid wash.

How it smells?

Strong neem odour which everyone will hate for sure. I do not recommend this for people with sensitive skin and noses. The smell is also too raw that you can't even have it near your face.

How it feels?

The liquid lathers up well enough to clear excess oils and dirt from your face. But whenever the amount of face wash goes lil bit more, it could dry out your skin. In case of dry skin, you better avoid this variant of face wash. Since the face wash contains many actives, you may feel a bit tingling sensation and irritation initially which subsides on further uses. Sensitive skin people can develop redness.

Suggestion of usage:

Even for oily skin you better use very small amount of product to avoid too much of drying. I suggest using a good moisturiser after usage (Peach avocado aloe gel worked well for me) Better not to use any strong toners such as witch hazel post usage. It could cause your skin wear out.

Does what it claim?

This face wash reduces my acne by drying it out but it didn't control any future pimples and the problem exists even after I had hit the bottom of the bottle. Does not do anything about my scars.

How long it goes?

100 ml went for 90 days as twice a day.

Pros:
  • Honest addition of actives.

  • Pump container - travel friendly

  • Foams well - tough enough to remove remaining makeup

  • Dries out pimples and acne

Cons:
  • Smell is too strong.

  • Suits only oily acne prone skin which is not sensitive.

  • Your face may look dull if you don't moisturise well post usage.

  • Plastic packaging which is not suitable for eco-friendly routine.

  • Did not stop acne/pimple problem completely and did not work on acne scars.

Will I recommend it?

For people who have severe acne and sebum issues and in desperate need of a strong cleanser.

Conclusion:

Rustic art is one of the brands which can change the future of organic, sustainable body care field. I expected a lot more than this strong face wash formula. I hope that I would be having good experience with other variants and products from them. See you soon with another gem from my shelf.
